You Only THINK You’re Not an Addict
Kimberly Bock Time and time again, we bloggers (and businessmen in general) defend ourselves and our behaviors..our time spent away from our families while we tap incessantly on our little keyboards, the marketing conferences (more time spent away from loved ones), the constant emailing and IMing those involved in our online endeavors, the late hours reading, voting, commenting and socializing online while our loved ones are wondering what it is about them that makes them so unlovable.
This behavior is the same behaviors of a full blown addict?
We will say “not now dear, daddy’s busy” or “I’m sorry sweetheart, but you just don’t understand. I don’t care more for them than I care for you.”(it only looks that way)
We will sacrifice things that are meaningful to blog that post, travel away from home to attend that seminar or meeting with ‘like minded’ individuals (as opposed to staying home and strengthening our relationships with those we claim to love)
We make excuses for our lack of ethics, so we can get our next ‘fix’..
These combined behaviors are what an addict is made of.
