The Forbidden Into The Void - Kimberly Bock

The Forbidden Into The Void

Into the void
Out of the body
The difficulty of simplicity is upon us

Sweltering like a bubbling cesspool
Creeping up from below
Attacking from behind

Reaching out from the heart
Destroying the meadows within sight
Fear of abandonment makes us abandon

Priceless thoughts untouched by human hands
Tormenting the driven secret soul
Underlying all we say and do

People in all their blinded utopia
Butterflies and roses of desire
Leading the horses to the waters of inevitable choice

Captured by our own desire for freedom
Glaciers of want destroyed by the floods of melting reality
Play with us stay with us til we are devoured by the lions we feed

Having the willpower to conquer…
Ourselves
Joining the party of the joneses
Frolicking in plastic smiles

Oh, the beauty of unforeseen sacrifice
The temptation to rate amongst the beasts of burden
How do we not see the place we hold?

The lion in the forest knows his place
The place for the survival of the fittest
All else becomes sustenance, food

All the universe and its splendor is temporary
All the planetary elements circle with one mission
The marionettes know nothing of the puppeteer before them

We are finding bliss in ignorance, as the song goes
Finding solitude in solace oblivious to the multitude
Unbeknownst to us, the last and only announces he is home

Pulsating with the madness of superficiality
Climbing manmade mountains built upon the flesh of survivors of past
They dance the dance without breaking a sweat

Where does the secret of the naked eye reveal itself?
In the delusional eye of those suffering the flames
Want the truth?
Sift through the ashes under the mountain.

Extra:

Originally, I didn’t conclude with this video. It is a close visual equivalent to the idea behind the words of this poem.

Enjoy.
