Strange but True
Kimberly Bock Have you ever met someone online, male or female that you just have a warm feeling towards and know they have the potential to be a great friend on or offline?
I feel that way about Shari Voigt. She’s upbeat, positive, and a successful business woman (copywriter). A real gem.
Here’s her Stumbleupon profile:
“Hi, My name is Shari. I’ve been Stumbling for a long time, but just now (January ‘08) getting around to adding a profile. My interests are varied and I enjoy Stumbling websites that encompass any of them: on the business side including copywriting, web site development, graphic design and marketing, and on the personal side: family life, art, health, pets and the great outdoors. I’m a copywriter and marketing consultant, specializing in writing powerful copy for online and off-line media, and search engine optimization for online visibility. I blog daily on the topic of small business marketing at Express Marketing Memo Thanks for visiting!”
She had written to me in SU telling me that I’ve been ‘tagged’. I thought, “Tagged? Oh no, not another SEO hater. So I visited the URL she sent to me and found “Strange But True” which is a little game of Tag but with bloggers.
Her proposition is for each person “tagged” to write 7 strange things about themselves in a blog post, then tag others to do the same!
Here’s Shari’s 7 strange but true things about herself.
I think it sounds like a fun challenge so here it is. 7 strange but true things about me: (gulp)
1-Until I was about 10 yrs old, I had a recurring nightmare of me trying to skip over rocks to cross this big wide waterway (maybe 1/2 mile across). The waterway was terrifying. Always felt like I was running to get away from something that was chasing me down to place me on it’s dinner table. Well, sure enough, no sooner I’d make it to the last rock, I’d slip and fall into the water where millions of snakes would spring up and ball themselves around me and take me under.
I’ve frequently thought it may be subconsciously embedded in me even today. When I am doing well in my endeavors, I have a tendency to be more critical of what I’m doing. Fearful.. as if I see that last rock. It has been a plus and a minus for me. It pushes me harder to improve my strides (obsessively I’m afraid) yet hinders me cause sometimes it feels like as much as I do is never going to be enough.
2-I have one blue eye and one green eye. I guess my parents must’ve argued about who was donating what to the cause. They both won.
3-I eat scrambled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs, any-ol’-way eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner most every day.
4-I have a 4 month old kitten (she’s still a kitten to me) that was left homeless in WVa. My aunt found her and called me about it. (I live in Va) It was freezing outside we don’t don’t know what happened to her mother. I named her Nunu. (see urban dictionary #3 but beware, ud’s scary)
5-I love the thought of bungee jumping from as high a place as I can jump, but am afraid of my parking lot.
6-I have a tendency to walk around in circles when undecided concerning situations that are deadline inclusive, during which time I ask Nunu for advice.
7-The people that I most want to trust are the first ones I am doubtful of, because experience has told me that they are the ones that do the most emotional damage.
So there you have it. 7 strange but true things (and maybe a bit too personal. eeek) about Kimberly Bock a.k.a. SpostareDuro.
Hmmm, who shall I tag?

Wow! Thank you for those kind words! I really feel like I’ve made new friends through this little game of tag. It’s a little scary to put so much of yourself on the page, but very worthwhile!
Your 4-month old kitten story made me smile. I have two 2-year old cats, absolutely identical except for weight. I’ve just started calling them “cats” within the past year. They “help” me write … and provide comic relief when I’m taking life too seriously.
By the way, Kimberly, your blog design is beautiful!
Shari, I’m seeing that this can be a really great way to get closer to our friends, be of better service to them and vice versa.
I’m glad I found this design too. It’s a peaceful place for me to visit. It feels comfy and warm.
And as far as Nunu is concerned, she drives me nuts, but hey..I’m sure she feels the same about me.
