    “Famine is the result of a process of “free market” restructuring of the global economy which has its roots in the debt crisis of the early 1980s. It is not a recent phenomenon as suggested by several Western media reports, narrowly focusing on short-term supply and demand for agricultural staples”
    This guy knows close to nothing about the free market or economics. The reason people are starving like today in the food riots in Cairo Egypt, is government control over supply and demand. It is the free nations with free markets that have higher prices but ample supply.
    It is freedom and freedom to do what we want with OUR resources and money that makes supply available.
    He lists lots of nations with food problems and every single one is a closed system either run by the governments or suppressed by totalitarian controls.
