Tommy Douglas - The Man Behind Canada’s Universal Health Care

In a previous article at “Learning SEO Basics-Supporter of Ethical Marketing and Consumer Rights“, I had mentioned that Canada has free health care for their citizens. I first learned of this by watching Michael Moore’s “Sicko”. I guess I haven’t been as aware of worldy affairs as I should’ve been. That’s changing quickly.

This free health care concept is referred to as “Universal health care“.

Did You Know?

So who’s great idea was it to implement this Universal health care to Canadian citizens?

It was Thomas Clement Douglas.

“Few details of Shakespeare’s sexuality are known. At 18, he married the 26-year-old Anne Hathaway, who was pregnant. Susanna, the first of their three children, was born six months later on 26 May 1583. However, over the centuries readers have pointed to Shakespeare’s sonnets as evidence of his love for a young man. Others read the same passages as the expression of intense friendship rather than sexual love. At the same time, the twenty-six so-called “Dark Lady” sonnets, addressed to a married woman, are taken as evidence of heterosexual liaisons.
